Enlistment Date

I found out the other day when I'll be leaving for the army, and I meant to blog it already but i've had a few dramas going on my way at the moment. Some know what I'm talking about, others well it's such a long story I'll leave it for another day! But all I can say is OMG.......
But anyway... I was standing in the line in ServiceTas the other day waiting to pay for a birth certificate when I got a call from a guy from Defence Force Recruiting. I almost didn't answer it but thought I had better just incase. Lucky I did because he called to tell me they had got a definite answer on my enlistment date. And yep it's the 11th of January. I can't explain all the emotions that ran through me when it actually hit home. Fear, excitement, sadness and absolute terror of leaving my kids.
But because this is moving along so quickly and smoothly (thus far) I feel that this is what I am meant to be doing with my life at this point in time. So as scary as it is, it's probably best that I leave as soon as I am as it gives me less time to get anxious about it and back out.
Dwayne just gave notice at his work so I guess I couldn't now even if I wanted to. So providing I pass my fitness test tomorrow I'll be leaving in less than three weeks.
