So we put the Christmas tree up today. And when I say 'we' I mean 'I'. The kids just got in the way trying to 'help'. They did help a little bit but only in the way of making a mess.
Putting the tree up reminded me of why I was going to put it off for another week or so. Not only the kids making a mess and getting in the way, but I remembered how annoying it was.
With my tree you have to attach every single branch. Trust me it's not fun. And it takes more time than I would like to spend. But it got done. And then I made the mistake of deciding to put the lights on. Only they were all tangled up in one mass and it took forever to untangle. An hour actually. While the kids were playing around me with the christmas decorations. After I had succeeded in untangling the lights (which I nearly gave up with numerous times) I put them on the tree. Only to discover that the didn't work. I guess it would have been smarter to plug them in and check if they worked before untangling them. Did someone say frustrating?
By the time that was done it looked like a bomb of christmas tree decorations had exploded n my loungeroom, all thanks to the kiddies of course. They had fun. I didn't cleaning it up.
But at least the tree is up and decorated now. Now all I have to do until christmas is keep the kids from knocking it over. That'll be fun.

ReplyDeleteLast year we bought a tree and it put it's stupid fake leave things all over the floor, Which pissed me right off! So this year Nikolai is way to young for us to put a tree up without him touching it. So i opted to make one out of a phone book lol I'll take a pic when it's done.
